In the mid eighties 3 brothers united their engineering skills and formed “Wood Frames” a joinery manufacturing company based in the East End of London. As the name implied the nature of the work in those early days was in the main the manufacture of replacement windows, doors and staircases.
Over the next decade we were successful in supplying many of the Capital’s refurbishment specialist’s with high class joinery for their projects. This success eventually necessitated the need for larger premises and the move to our present location.
The increased floor space allowed us to undertake our own veneering together with in-house polishing and spraying. This enabled us to manufacture more of the high-end furniture and fitments that our design led-clients were asking for.
The next decade saw us adapt to the demands of clients, designers and architects alike. This led us to embrace new technology with the purchase of C.N.C technology whilst the drawing board has been replaced with Computer aided design.
“Dovetailed Designs” was formed in 2003 and has continued to enjoy a close relationship with our clients, some of whom we have known for over 25 years.
As a company we are not afraid to embrace new technology providing it complements the traditional skills that were handed down to us, and are the foundations of our daily work ethic.
